Rice Dumplings :


To Celebrate The Spring Festival, communities of East and Southeast Asia especially Chinese Peoples will make Rice Dumplings on the fifth day of the fifth month of the Lunar Calendar, Rice Dumplings made with various materials. There are two types of Rice Dumplings, the first one is salty type and the other is sweet type. Rice Dumplings made with a four-sided shape which is wrapped with Bamboo Leaves and steamed.



At first Rice Dumplings made of rice or sticky rice and stuffed with meat in it, this is the salty type :



There is also a sweet type, made of glutinous rice without contents with a smaller size, usually eaten with sweet syrup or sweet jam.


There are some peoples who make sweet type of Rice Dumplings with different colours, but still delicious.

Recipes of Steamed Cakes


Cheese Steamed Cakes Recipe :


Ingredients :

- 3 Egg Whites
- 10 Egg Yolks
- 150 grams Caster Sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon Salt
- 150 grams Cake Flour
- 1/2 teaspoon Baking Powder
- 50 ml Liquid Milk
- 50 grams Margarine, melted
- 1 tablespoon Sweetened Condensed White Milk
- 50 grams grated Cheddar Cheese

Decoration Materials :

- 2 tablespoons Butter Cream
- 3 pieces of Cheese Sheet, printed crescent shaped
- 10 pieces of fresh Strawberries

Methods : 

* Beat Egg Whites, Egg Yolks, Caster Sugar and Salt until fluffy then enter Cake Flour and Baking Powder with sifted and mix evenly.

* Enter the mixture of  Liquid Milk + melted Margarine + Sweetened Condensed White Milk little by little, stirring slowly.


* Add grated Cheddar Cheese, mix well.


* Enter the dough into bumpy pudding mold.


* Steam over medium heat for 15 minutes until cooked.


* Rub the top of the cake with Butter Cream then decorate with Crescent Shaped Cheese and Fresh Strawberries.
* Cheese Steamed Cakes are ready to be presented.

Recipes of Steamed Cakes

Taro Steamed Sponge Cakes Recipe :


Taro Steamed Sponge Cakes is one of the favorite steamed cakes in Indonesia, here is the simple recipe :

Ingredients :

- 100 grams Steamed Taro, being mashed
- 100 grams Instant Coconut Milk, dissolved in 75 ml water
- 3/4 teaspoon Taro Paste
- 100 grams Egg Whites
- 1/4 teaspoon Salt
- 1/2 tablespoon Emulsifier ( SP/TBM )
- 150 grams Caster Sugar
- 200 grams Low Protein Flour
- 1/2 teaspoon Baking Powder
- 50 grams Smooth Chocolate Granules

Methods :

* Blend the Steamed Taro that are being mashed with solution of Instant Coconut Milk and Water, also Taro Paste until soft.

* Beat the Egg Whites, Salt and Emulsifier until fluffy half. Add Caster Sugar little by little as it whipped until fluffy and stiff.

* Enter Low Protein Flour and Baking Powder with sifted and whipped slowly alternates with the mixture of Taro.


* And then add Smooth Chocolate Granules, mix well.


* Enter the dough into cup cakes size Baking Dish which is lined with Baking Paper until full.


* Steamed over high heat which preheated for 10 minutes until cooked.


The delicious Taro Steamed Sponge Cakes is ready to be presented.

Recipes of Steamed Cakes

Steamed Cheese Cream Cakes


This is one of the delicious steamed cakes recipe :

Ingredients :

- 8 Egg Yolks
- 4 Egg Whites
- 75 grams Cheese Cream, steamed to melt
- 125 grams Caster Sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon Salt
- 125 grams Cake Flour
- 20 grams Milk Powder
- 1/2 teaspoon Baking Powder
- 100 grams Butter, melted
- 75 grams White Cooking Chocolate, melted
- 1/8 teaspoon Vanilla Essence

Topping Spread Materials :

- 75 grams Butter Cream
- 100 grams Cheddar Cheese, grated lengthwise to use as a topping

Methods :

* Steam the Cheese Cream until melt.


* Mix Melted Butter, Melted White Cooking Chocolate and Vanilla Essence.

* Whipped Egg Yolks, Egg Whites, Caster Sugar and Salt until fluffy, add Melted Cheese Cream and shake until flat then add Cake Flour, Milk Powder and Baking Powder with sifted and stir until blended.



* Add the mix of Melted Butter + Melted White Cooking Chocolate + Vanilla Essence little by little , stirring gently.


* Enter the dough into medium size oval baking dish which is lined with baking paper without smeared.

* Steam over medium heat for 30 minutes until cooked.


* After the Steamed Cakes are cold, spread the top of the Cakes with Butter Cream thinly then sprinkle the grated lengthwise Cheddar Cheese on it.

The Steamed Cheese Cream Cakes are ready to be presented.
